Channel strips are one of the most powerful tools sitting in most people's plugin folder, and one of the least understood. Open one up and you're faced with filters, compression, EQ, and a handful of buttons that don't explain themselves. So a lot of people either guess their way through it, or close it and reach for something more familiar.
In this video I walk through the order I use every time, on a real mix, with nothing else in the signal chain, just the channel strip doing the work. I also cover two controls that barely get touched but genuinely change how the plugin behaves, and a simple way to decide which type of channel strip suits the source you're working on.
